Offre d’emploi : Post-Doctoral Fellow (Pre-breeder for cereals)

Main purpose of position

ICARDA holds the global mandate for the collection, conservation and use of barley and durum wheat genetic diversity, and it conducts major breeding activities for both crops. Recently, two H2020 projects focusing on the improvement of below ground traits of these two crops have been added to the portfolio of investments, which already included the Crop Trust support for the exploitation of wild relatives, two major efforts by the One CGIAR agenda: the GENEBANK platform, and the Accelerate Breeding Initiative. To deliver across this array of initiatives, ICARDA is seeking a young and motivate scientist capable of supporting the pre-breeding effort for barley and durum wheat, strengthening the linkage between genebank characterization of diversity and its breeding use.
